We had a nice group and it was a helpful outing for horses and riders. Suzie has planned one more Feb. 4th so put this on your calendar. This time we took Lina – Bailey, Zoe – Fraser, Emily – Zoobie, Lindsay – Ferris, Andrea – Dixie, Michele – Dane, and Vicky – Harry.
Lynden schooling and new dates
14 12 2011We had fun in Lynden, well worth going, even Tom joined us. Next time (weather permitting) is Jan. 7th. Then we have the Stanwood schooling shows Feb. 5th and Mar.4th. (Remender this is a leap year.)

9 12 2011We have the arena from 11:30-12:30 on sun. WE PLAN TO LEAVE THE BARN AT 10:30 THEN WE CAN GET IN AND WARM UP AS SOON AS WE GET TACKED UP. LINA, ZOE, MEGAN, RACHEL, DANNY, and ANDREA are all going.

Schooling in Lynden
18 11 2011Suzie Huizenga is booking the Lynden arena and will be setting up a jumping course. She is renting out time to anyone for $150.00 an hour. I would like to take a group over (Dec 10th). The more people, the less the arena costs will be to share. If you just want to go over and ride on the flat this will work too as an opportunity to go somewhere different. Please let me know if you are interested.

Maple Ridge
8 08 2011Thur through Sun is the H/J show in Maple Ridge, BC. Emily, Lina, Zoe and Katie are all going. The following week is Thunderbird from Tues thru Sun. Then I am actually home for a while.

Milner
2 08 2011Jazz started the show cranky and in heat but despite this Emily piloted her very well, just some bad luck with a rail each class. The partnership increases every time they get in the ring.
Lina”s first show with us and Bailey. Lina moved up a division, handled it very well and got better every time in the ring. They also kept moving up in the ribbons, from 7th to 2nd. Well done!
Katie rode Carol Landt’s horse Whats’up in the 2’9″hunters. he acted like he had done this all his life and pulled a couple of second’s against very tough company. A woman Carol works with rode him in the Jumper ring, he did a course one day at 3’3″ and ended up second. A very impressive effort.
Fun to have Carol along.

Southlands
2 08 2011Emily and Jazz were on top of their game being first and second in all their classes and coming home with the reserve champion in 2 divisions. They flew in their first derby (other than FBF derby) Fun to watch, fast with just one rail.
Emily took Dane and won some nice ribbons in the Hunters, then moved over to the Jumper ring and had double cleans in the 2’9″‘s. He and Zoobie had a few bonding issues but they got over this by the end of the show and he even relaxed in his flat class.
Lina rode Zoobie in the hunters. They did very well, Zoo’s first big show other than the Fjord show. She showed some real talent, jumped better every day, and placed well.

August schedule
2 08 2011Wow, what a whirlwind summer. My computer has been in the shop so I am really behind in passing on the news.
I am going back to Centralia this Thur-Sun with Teressa for a CDE (combined Driving Event) with Nina and Zoo. (4-7)
The next week from Thur-Sun is Maple Ridge. Emily, Lena, Katie and Zoe are going. (11-14)
Then we go straight over to Thunderbird for the last show of the summer. this will be Emily, Lena and Zoe. (16-21)
After this I should be back to a fairly regular teaching schedule.
